The other day in yoga, I did something I’ve been working toward for a while.
I held a headstand.
It’s been a quiet goal for awhile… something I’ve been building strength for, and practicing with a wall, but was starting to wonder if it would ever actually happen for me.
And then, in class, I felt the moment.
The teacher asked if anybody needed a hands-on assist and without overthinking it I found myself waving her over.
Took a breath. And before I knew it, my legs were up in the air!
Not perfectly. Not for long.
But long enough to feel it click, and the literally THRILL shooting down my body.
And as I came down (slightly wobbly, very proud), I realized something:
In life, business, (and yoga!), these are the moments when the right support at the right time means everything.

When you’re building a business, especially in the early stages, it can feel like you’re doing everything on your own.
You’re probably making decisions without a sounding board.
Trying things out to see if they’ll work.
Wearing every possible hat while trying not to overextend yourself.
And even as your business grows, that feeling doesn’t fully disappear…. because every new level asks something new of you.

There’s a perspective I keep coming back to because it feels SO aligned with the work I do with women-owned businesses.
Look up.
Who is doing what you want to do?
Who already holds the knowledge, experience, or perspective you need?
Look down.
Who is where you once were?
Who could benefit from your guidance, your encouragement, your story?
This is what it means to do business in community.
It’s not about having all the answers.
It’s about staying connected, supported AND supportive.
Because a rising tide doesn’t happen by accident:
It’s in the sharing what we’ve learned (even if we’re still learning)…
It’s investing in support (though we may never feel truly ready)…
And it’s letting yourself be seen in the in-between stages, because growth doesn’t happen in isolation.

This is exactly how I approach brand photography.
Because your photos aren’t just about where your business is today…
they aim to capture where you’re heading next.
That next level you’re stepping into, and the version of your brand that feels more aligned, more intentional, and more you.
And here’s something I see all the time:
The process of planning a photoshoot doesn’t just capture clarity…
it actually creates it.
Because the questions we ask, the conversations we have, and the decisions around wardrobe, location, and how you want to shot up…
Help you start to see your business differently.
You don’t have to have it all figured out before you step in front of the camera.
That’s part of what we uncover together.
And the same is true on the other side of my work.
If you’re a photographer, growing your business and refining your craft can feel just as uncertain at times.
The posing.
The lighting.
The client experience.
How you position yourself as more than “just” a photographer.
You don’t have to navigate that alone either.
Through my trainings and 1:1 mentorship, I help photographers build both the skills and the confidence to create stronger work and deliver a more elevated, strategic client experience.
Because whether you’re in front of the camera or behind it…
there’s always a next level.
And you don’t have to figure it out on your own.
