One of my clients said it best when she told me…
“Branding is one of those words I cannot wrap my brain around. I know what it is but don’t know how to implement.”
To me, branding is more than your logo or the colors you use in your business. It encompasses each and every touch point and interaction you have with your potential clients: From the start of your process and how they find you, to your end thank you note or the ongoing relationship you build.
Including:
– The language you use in your emails
– The tone you use when posting on social media
– The way you physically show up
– Your photography and visuals
3 Reasons you may be ready for a rebrand
1. You’ve Developed a Clear Voice
If you’ve been able to identify exactly who it is you want to serve, CONGRATULATIONS! This is a big step on the branding journey, and often involves working with all kinds (and not all desirable) until you are able to niche down to your dream client. Now you will want to craft your messaging, content and visuals with them in mind. If your current branding doesn’t appeal to your ideal client, it might be time for a re-fresh.
2. You Want to Increase Pricing
Rebranding and increased pricing often go hand in hand. When you elevate your brand you accomplish two things: You have a brand that matches the high quality of your work (in other words, you present your product or service in its highest light.) And, you send the message to your ideal clients that you invest in your business, just as you are asking them to invest in your business.
3. You Have Big Dreams
When you look to where you want to take your business in the future, is your current brand going to be able to take you there? What are the dreams and hopes for your business? Do you want to add to your team? Expand product lines or territories? Add a podcast? When you consider where you want to be 5 years from now, if your current branding isn’t going to cut it, it’s time to create the package that can make that vision become a reality.
Bonus – You’ve Changed Locations
As I was writing this blog I received an inquiry from a potential new client who wrote: “I will be moving my office to a new location this summer and feel it is time to refresh my brand.”
I couldn’t have written it better myself! Showcasing your new space is a wonderful time to rebrand.
